About Rafie Karim Laboratory

Designing groundbreaking antiviral therapeutics to treat chronic diseases.

Our mission is to unravel the intricate ways in which viruses contribute to chronic human diseases, from cancer to Alzheimer’s. By delving into the molecular mechanisms that allow viruses to hijack cellular bioenergetics and awaken from dormancy, we seek to uncover the hidden connections driving disease progression. With this knowledge, we aim to develop strategies to prevent viral reactivation, ultimately reducing their long-term impact on human health.
